On March 14, 2013, the Wisconsin Bike Patrol became a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with public charity status. We operate as a special events emergency medical service (EMS) provider, specializing in medical first response on bikes. Our team consists of volunteer medical professionals who are passionate about assisting athletes in need during outdoor sporting events, such as mountain bike or road bike races, marathons, triathlons, and more.

Our bike-mobile patrollers are specially trained to handle medical emergencies that may arise at these events. We also maintain off-road rescue units to evacuate injured individuals from remote back-country areas when necessary.

We're looking for a few good Mountain Bikers...that have Medical Training!

Wisconsin Bike Patrol

Medical First Responders on bikes, could get to the injured faster and easier than most other EMS units that were on standby; AND that the Bike Patrollers could handle, effectively, most of the injuries on site.

Once on site, Patrollers can evaluate the patient and depending on the injury, assist them to our Medical Tent for further care, or radio for our Rescue Unit to evacuate them from the field.

The 'visualization of the Bike Patrol on-site', along with abilities of the Bike Patrol, made the event safer, professional and provided comfort to families attending the event.

All medics are on radios to call for back-up or assistance.
